Question Wind/rain deflectors worth the $?

Are the wind/rain deflectors that can be mounted on doors worth the money? Do they cause any extra wind noise? Is one brand better/worse than another? I'd like some opinions before I spend the money and put something on that can't easily be removed.

I like them very much on my truck. They don't make any noise going down the road either. I believe for a SCrew there only like $45.

Blacktruck.... check out the EGR brand or Weathertech.... as for installation/removal, get the in-channel ones - they just slip right into the window channel without any tape/adhesive... removal is a snap... I have the weathertechs which I painted to match my truck.. no problems whatsoever...

I have a brand new set of in-channel visors that I have not even opened that I would sell. I bought them because I liked them on my S-10, but my wife said it would take away from the sport-truck look of my truck, so they have been sitting around taking up space. Send me an email and let's talk!!

One of the first things we did after we got the truck and they are nice to have, especially in Juneau where it rains a lot. I've never noticed any wind noise from them.

LightningCrew, I like the way they look even on a sporty truck, I don't think it would detract from the look at all but that's just my .02.

IMO, you won't regret them. I've got the weathertech brand and they're great!

Weathertech - which body style?

I'm trying to order the weathertech deflectors, but the website asks which body style I have, and there are only 2 options - the Heritage and then New Body style. I chose the latter, but I've never heard of the FXR flareside as a new body style. I chose the option of extended cab. Am I assuming correctly?

They don't care what bed you have. They need to know if you have the 97-03 body style (also the 04 Heritage) or if you have the new 04-05 body style. You are buying pieces parts that fit into the window so they need to know which size to send you. And choosing the extended cab option is correct if you have the extended cab. It is not correct if you have the super crew.

Weathertech

First post. Hi everyobody.

I just bought a 98 F150 extended cab 4x4 and have been thinking about the wind/rain deflectors. I checked out the weathertech site and noticed they have bug deflectors too. How do they rate or which brand seems to be the besr/ easiest to install?

****... I have an EGR Superguard bug deflector and like it alot..... one trick that I did with mine is to buy the clear version and I painted the BACKSIDE of the deflector to match my truck..... (spray a coat of clearcoat on the backside first, then your truck color and another coat of clearcot)... benefit of painting the backside is that the paint doesn't get chipped from rocks, etc....

It's also one of the first things I bought for mine too. Best money for a comfort item. If you feel like cracking the windows in the rain, they're priceless. Otherwise it runs right into the window, but I'm sure you know that already

You also have the added benefit of dropping the windows a bit in the summer when you park, makes a world of difference, and no one knows they're down.,,,,98

Just purchased a pair of Weathertech in-channel visor for 35 bucks on e-bay. They look very OEM, plus are very easy to install...I highly recommend them.

So how do the in-channel styles mount for the rear windows on a super cab?
