How do they install? What makes them stay up?

You have to "force" them into the channel. You bend them ever so slightly to get them into the track and the tension keeps them there. The instructions are pretty easy to follow. I have used them for 6 years and never had one pop out, even through the car washes.

BlackTruck.... sorry I didn't notice you had a Supercab.... I honestly don't know how the deflectors are attached to the rear windows... I imagine they are indeed taped.....hopefully someone with an extended cab will reply with a definitive answer... again, sorry for the confusion..

Hmmm. I guess opinions vary, but I think they add to the look of the truck. I have the Deflecta-Shield stick on's on the doors, and one on the back window to cut down on sunlight coming through.

Like 98screamer said, you can crack the windows in the summer no matter what it's doing outside and nobody can tell. The biggest advantages IMO are being able to vent the cab without getting wet when it rains, and not getting windblown hair (no girlie jokes please) from cracking the window.

Is $50 too much to pay for the weather-techs?

They don't sell in-channel style guards for the supercab rear windows. Just get the stick on type. They mount on the black rubber trim around the front window, and unfortunately on the paint around the back windows. But, I'm sure that if you wanted to remove them a simple adhesive remover that is safe on paint would work fine. Also, I have seen some trucks where part of the guard has been ripped off without any paint damage.

They DO sell the in-channel wind/rain deflectors for the 04/05 SuperCab (including the rear windows). I just ordered mine from eBay...the brand I ordered is Wade. I'm assuming there must be some adhesive to keep them in the channel.

YES, they are worth it They work as advertised. I use VentShade for the windows and moon roof.

Talking Ventshades

I'm a smoker, and when it rains, it nice that I can roll down the window and not get rained on.
