Me, I personally love mine. If I got an XLT, I was going to add them. First is the safety. They are surprisingly bright and noticible to people beside and behind you. Then there's also the reactions of all your friends the first time they see it.

I think the signal mirrors are way cool. They are an excellent safety feature and everyone makes positive comments about them.

Roger, that's going to be my next mod. Mine a 97 how long do you think it's going to take me? I heard from the dealership the 97 is not equip with the wiring for this and the 98 and up has a harness already in for it. Is this true? I don't want to start splicing up the wiring and have problems.
If it's easy like the way you describe, I'll take a set. steve

MIF, You are correct, the 97's dont have the wires in the doors therefore it takes about an extra hour to do the wiring. The instructions are very good and they tell you exactly where the wires are that need to be spliced into. Heres a breakdown for labor as far as I can remember.

Door panels, mirror removal from truck, mirror glass replacement
(boths sides) 1 hour.

Re-installation of mirrors and wiring to the under side of the dash (both sides) 1 hour.

2 hours total for a really cool product!

I'm hoping someone will write a couple more sentences on the install. I'm not helpless but the more idiot-proof (good instructions) the better. Certainly a good/neat idea, would have gotten them were they available from factory. My boy thinks they're cool so maybe I can swing a deal with Santa Claus. How long is $10 credit deal going to last? Thanks much.

Dave, yours suppose to be a direct plug in from what I heard from the Ford parts man. All 98 and up needs no splicing. What I'm concern about is since the 97 are not equipped with this harness, those wires will most likely be snake all the way into the cab?
Roger, any chance that I can get a copy of the installation sheet before I order it. I been thru hell with the so called "30 minute or less" Autometer pod install which ended up a whole day, they didn't let you about the wirings part which took 8 hours. steve
