I have to agree with Big Mac on this. I've seen the new mirrors on the 2000 at the dealer and they have no flare at all. My 99 has in my opinion the best ones on it. With the large arrows that I can't see. The new ones extend out from the mirror and just don't look good at all! I'm no longer worried about having them factory on the next truck.

Big Mac and jtruesdell,
I agree; the 2000s' mirror signals don't look nearly as cool as the previous ones. I was disappointed to see them, but am still glad they kept them rather than ditch them. Not sure if the Expeditions changed over as the 150s did.
My friend works at a local Ford truck dealership (where I have mine ordered) and he said the old ones were ridiculously expensive and customers were complaining when they had to get replacements. (Aside: Since when did griping about high prices stop any auto manufacturer from gouging the customer? I guess I'm qualified to say that, since I've worked at two Chrysler dealerships, and have bought my share of GM parts for my old car.)
But look at the bright side: when people see your new signals, they'll definitely know you got the newest one on the block! (Can't wait.)

Question

This is a pic from the F150online marketplace:

Is this the '99 or '00 style?

Why isn't it working?

I returned from my vacation 2 days ago. I installed the signal mirrors yesterday(they arrived after I left for my vacation). It took me 5 hours!!! It was kinda fun, I've never pulled off some panels, etc off any car. Twice I forgot to replace something which I realized only after I put back everything in it's place. I don't know anything about cables, wires, etc. But the instructions were very clear. Removing the power window, etc modules was a pain in the ***. They were very hard to get them off(I think I broke my fingers). Now I have my cool signal mirrors...

I love mine! Nice safety gadget. If you look closely at the glass, there is another row of lights next to the arrow. I wonder why both rows don't work? It would make the arrow much larger and brighter.

Just got mine in the mail this afternoon. Can't wait to install them this weekend Next, I am removing my front fender F-150 emblems and replacing them with a cool sleek turn signal lamp, I have to find a way to route the wire through the inner fender wall to the turn signal wiring. Should I go with the standard yellow lamp or go with white lamp? My truck color is Pacific green, 98 model.

Then whoever assembled and designed then did a much better job than the OEM Ford uses. What's a set cost ? This could be the fix (at my expense) to the <60> MPH mirror shaker.
