Talking Stick on Window Deflectors...any problems?

I just bought some Profile Windstream Side Window Deflectors for my truck. They really look good on my regular cab and are the perfect compliment to the Ford front bug deflector. I would have never used the drill in ones, but I do wonder about their longevity (especially since I put them in during winter). Can you share your experiences with side window deflectors? Please mention what type, style, and stick on or drill in.

Those looking for window deflecters might want to investigate the McNeil Weathertech's. They fit in the window channel itself without impeding travel. Snazzy. I'm real happy with the ones I have and believe there are others on this site who are satisfied with the product.

Mine came from Meijer and installed without incident. They lasted well and looked great at trade (3 years old).

Only one complaint: Despite the appearance of being able to channel water away from the window, they dripped into the truck where the stock door/window did not.

All looks, no function.

I am not planning on installing them on my new truck.

Cool

I usually install the Ford ones (ventshade), and have seen no problems with them. If it was real cold you might want to warm up the area with a hair dryer or heat gun. It will make the adhesive adhere quicker, better. In the cold is allright, the adhesive will take a little longer to gain the adhesion as warm weather installations.

I hunt with a guy who has the stick on type (forgot which brand)on his Nissan truck. This truck is constantly in the woods on small roads and firelanes with branches striking the truck. He has had this truck for 6 years and the visors have never come loose or even cracked or broken. I had the Auto Ventshades on my 97 F-150 for about a year and had no problems with them either. That 3M tape sticks better than super glue. Better get them on straight the first time.

To mod or not to mod....that is the question!

So far so good with the wind deflectors, I did find that there was a small 1/2" section I hadnt stuck down securely on the end. I pushed it down but it wont secure. What could I use besides glue to stick that one end down?

I have a question,

Do these things really "do" anything, or do they just look good?

Triton46, try emblem tape ..its a 3x3 sheet of double sided moulding tape you can cut to shape. I used it hold my Ford emblem to my new billet grill. No problemo so far.
Wal- Mart has it.
