Post 1000.00 for a ARE cover?

I been shopping for a nice decent fiberglass cover in SC and the cheapest quote from a well known tops and camper place call US 21 is the ARE LSII lid for 695.00 plus 150.00 for the lid underside carpeting and tax, a total of over 900.00? I see the posts some of the members are paying 600.00 to 700.00.
Any members in SC or NC know a place to pick one of these or a Snuglid at a lower price?
Mail order is out of the question since they charge at least 100.00 for shipping and the paint color are not guaranteed upon delivery. I don't mind driving out 100 miles or so if the price is right. I work in a mechanic shop and tried and cannot order from any hard lid vendors because of territorial sales and other mumbo jumbo. Any suggestions is appreciated. Thanks.

I live in GA, about 60 miles from Clemson SC, and have one for sale. Its sold by Leer and is called a lorider, it's the style that goes over the bed caps. Its less than a year old and is watertight, locks, and uses 2 gas shocks for opening. It fits a short bed, fleetside I think they call it. It's the one without fenders. Its painted bright red code (E4), but can be painted any color to match. I've been asking 450. but it you want I'll let you have it for 400. Hope it helps, if its what your looking for. Send me an email if interested. Curtis629@aol.com

I don`t know alot when it comes to toppers or lids. But I bought my ARE Fiberglass lid cover a year ago this past X-mas. Plus my dad has one on his truck too. The paint matches perfectly, L@@ks like it came out of the factory with the truck. I`ve seen others that are just as high in price & don`t match well at all. So I`m glad I got my cover from ARE. It was right at $700.00 for my cover.

I live in Kansas and I have an ARE cover on my 99 and love it. Mine was about $850, but that included the cover and a spoiler which you can get from ARE as well.

Two years ago in upper Georgia a Lear Dealer quoted me $650 painted and installed for one like mine. See my signature. He was on the Net and did online quotes and he is just off 85 near the SC - Ga border. Should be a little cheaper now?

BTW MDCurtis I am at Clemson right now! Good deal you are offering. It should only cost $100 to paint it.
