Is something stopping you from using the factory molded ones? The nerf bars? Do you have a styleside or a flairside? BTW: the factory ones are only about 35.00 pair. If need be you could cut em with a dremel tools to fit em in around something. Nothing realy looks better than the OEM ones. MHO

Question

Cphilip,

I also have nerf bars, and the factory molded mud flaps whould not fit the front because of the nerf bars. You really brought up an idea I was thinking about. I was going to cut out a oval hole or so to make a nice fit. I was wondering if it would make the flap to weak. I have reg. mud flaps on now. My Frt modeled flaps are sitting in my garage. It would be nice to have them on to match the back ones. Is this what the guys are doing?

Well my Smittybilts do not interfer with my flaps so didn't have a problem like you are describing. Only you with the factory ones would knonw for sure how much clearance you have. Seems like ford needed to think this one out better. It seems it would be worth a try huh? The main carrying points seem to be the flap running back which maybe could hold with only one screw point and the wheel well flap. If you could leave some of the back flap it could work. Especially if you eliminate the plastic holder thingy and screw into metal for this one point.

Cool

My truck didn't come with the factory mud flaps. I too have nerf bars. Since my truck is black, I put diamond plate mud flaps front and back. Really looks SHARP!

Go for the flaps. They help to keep mud and gunk off those shiny nerf bars and they look great too!
