Replaced.... Only 500 for a new hood and 200 for paint

I would screw up that hole so bad if I did that.

I did the cut and chop thing to my hood too, made it ram air and all that nice stuff. Then came the white stuff in Scottie's pic and the ram air part had to come off. Like a great big snow vaccum.
I didnt mind at all cutting into that shiny black paint, at least not for the end result.

The looks and the compliments were well worth it.

Scottie B

wuz up dog! i'm jealous of the snow! haven't seen that for 10 years now!! i got home sick looking at your pics!!
Sleddog, looks great man!!
when you took off the ram air, how did you cap off the hole?
and, can't you put some kind of baffle on it to keep rain and snow and the like out of the engine bay? i want to get that AAD cobra cowl and would love to hook that puppy up to become functional. i know Scottie B got one, you got to show it off man! and let us know what the deal is with making it functional!! Willie...
Still waiting for the hood to ship, the wait is driving me CRAZY. took more pics today.

Anybody modify a non-functional hood out there that can give a few tips? Links to some threads would be awesome. I'm curious if I need to worry about the weather around here once I make this sucka functional(snow and rain into the engine)? and what to do IF I need to worry about water/snow.

Thanks

I'm actually looking at getting me a hood for my L. and it will def look like this: http://www.cervinis.com/welcome.html probly the best looking hood I'v ever seen if you don't mind that it's copied off the Cobra R Mustang and enjoy the fact that it's a sexy hood

Willie, Dont have a problem with snow or stuff in the bay now, and rain was never an issue with it hooked up to funtion, it was just when it was really cold and the snow was very dry that the filter would ice up.
Just drove today in a pretty major storm here and hardly any snow made it into the engine bay. What little did just melted and evaporated.

Smok][n,, ha ha bro, I know that look. Mine looked pretty crappy at first stages. Hope fully the new one I am workin on will be better looking and set up to work with an AirRaid intake.

Scottie, Not sure what kind of snow you get there, but here when its really cold and the snow is really dry it is hard to stop it from reaching the filter. I just figure the engine isnt in need of cooler air and the rodding is at a minimum this time of year so its easier to just unhook the intake setup for the winter.
