Cool Clear Corners!! Awesome!!

I got my corners this morning and they're on the truck! They are so cool, unfortunatly I just sent my digital camera to Sony for repair so no pics yet. I'll try to take some with my 35mm and scan them in if the weather permits. I went with the OEM type that match the headlights. Didn't want to have to change headlights too, just wanted to get rid of the orange!! Here is where I got them if you want to see them, will post some pics when I can.

Wow, thanks fordman! I'd heard about those but wasn't sure where to find them. Even though the corners aren't crystal clear you can still see the amber bulb inside, I'll have to get me a couple of those!!

Those bulbs will look like this when installed. They actually look kind of cool with the silver/blue color when off and bright amber when on or flashing. I have the Lightning turns on mine but they will look a little different with the total clear turns

Thumbs up

wild-mtn-rose,
Was the $29.95 for the pair or per light? Can you put amber bulbs in them or are they sealed units? Thanks!

Thanks LGJ! Yep the price is for two corners and you can put amber bulbs in them however I think I'm going to spring for the SliverStar bulbs that fordman4life suggested. That way there will be no visible orange when they are not on. Even though those corners are not totally clear you can still see the amber bulb inside and it bugs me. The SilverStars are a little on the pricey side $22 a pair I think is what they were....almost as much as the corners But I think the look will be worth it. Here is the web-site for the SilverStars:

With out the amber reflector they are not street legal. Does give a nice look though.

The SilverStar bulbs are amber when lit. I spoke to the Alaska Highway Patrol before I ordered the clear corners and all they said was I had to have an amber light in there to be legal.

Quote from Sylvania SilverStar web-page: "NEW SilverStar Signal Lighting- gives you the crisp, clean styling of clear lens signal lighting design and produces a 100% street legal amber light when lit."

I'm not saying the bulb isn't legal, the absence of a amber reflector at the front is, most cops won't notice or care but all you need is 1 who does.

Check this letter out

http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/rules/...21214.ztv.html

And some will post this disclaimer so if you get ticketed you have no recourse on them,

Some items listed are legal in California only for racing vehicles which may never be used upon a highway.
Check with your local Law Enforcement for Legal issues.

Bottom line, federal law requires an amber reflector on both sides at the front and an red reflector on bith sides at the rear, does your lenses have the DOT certification stamp?

Thanks for the info, no my lenses don't have an amber reflector so I suppose they are a no-no. I think I'll run 'em anyhow 'til I find the 1 cop who cares then I'll think about putting the originals back on!

I know we live in different parts of the world, but my local cops don't have a problem with mine, and I've been running them for almost 9 months now.:santa:
