I think some states it isn't illegal to have one, but it is illegal to use it. I believe that is the case in Indiana, but it has been a few years since I lived there. that is just what I was told.

I have owned many over the years , including the early model Escort, a Passport a Cobra, A BEL and finally a V1. There is no comparison, the V1 is by far the best. Its ability to pick up multiple radars and direction warnings are top notch. Best $400 I have ever spent. Don't be cheap, buy the best.
