Just go to autozone or o'reilly and ask them to look it up. If your lookin for color i would look else where. I bought a blue one and the blue burnt off in like a week.
i have a 15" neon tube on the top of the back seat that I bought from autozone. I hard wired it instead of using the cigarette lighter. It lights up the cab pretty good and i have it had a setting where it beats to the bass. It may not be the best or prettiest setup but i like it.

Walmart sells these blue rubber things that will slip over lights and turn them colors. They come in a package with 2 reds, 2 blues, and 2 greens. I bought a package just for the blues and they work good. My dome light is bluer than what a blue bulb did. They don't fade either. Only about $3 for a package of 2 of each of those colors. Found them in the automotive section. Also make them for the bulbs that go in the doors and under the hood.

How did you do that? Hardwire it? I want to get rid of my wire cluter but I don't know about wiring and such. Do you have pics? or just a set of instructions? That would be great if you did.

First off i cut off the cigarette lighter end.(make sure you know which is ground and power) Then I ran some 16 gauge wirefrom the battery into a inline fusethen thru the firewall to the toggle switch on the dash, then under the driver side step plate or what ever it is right below the door where the neon wire was. Just conected the power wire to the new wire then I conected both of the grounds together on a bolt on the left side under th dash. If this doesnt explain it clear enough just let me know and ill try to take pictures of it all. I like it and all the stuff can be bout for like 5 or 6 bucks a autozone.

LOL, you went all out on that neon. All you had to do was run wire from the neon to the terminals of your sub and it will flash to the base.

My friend did that in his Blazer, had red and blue neons that flashed to the base, looked sweet. Always thought the cops were behind us on roadies though.

I hooked up a green one in the trunk of my old taurus. I just did it so when I showed my friends my subs, I could show them off a little more with the flashing neon.

But how did you get it to hook up with the Bass? You just ran it to the Sub? I always joked about doing that, maybe I'll do it, but i suppose I should get a sub first.

On mine the neon has a sensor that pics up bass. If its on and you hit the side of the truck it will flash. It has a switch on it that either beats with the tunes or you switch it and it stays on all the time.

Yeah i prolly did go over board but it works fine and i dont have to tap into the amp or sub.

Peace,
X

I kinda get what your saying. What kind of inline fuse should I get? What kind of switch should I get? Does it matter, just one that has "on and off"?

I just got one that i liked. They all had the same three prong setup so i just got one that i liked. The fuse i got was just and inline fuse holder. Just a wire with a fuse holder in the middle and i put a 20 amp fuse in it. Sorry thses arent real clear instructions but i cant seem to type clearly what i mean.

Later,
X

Ok so I think I got it from reading your instructions, and reading online about this.

Since I have two neons I'm going to need a "multi-outlet distribution block" to connect the two neons together. Then from the MODB I'll need a switch so I can turn it off and on. Then From the switch to the battery I'm going to need a inline fuse holder? Doesn't sound too hard.

Are you talking about an underbody kit joe? If your just putting a couple of the small interior neons in your truck, just splice them together and run them to a power source or a switch.

For the neons that flash to the bass, you don't even have to have the special bass responsive neons. Just the normal basic neon tubes will work. I bought some at the local flea market for $8 or $9 a piece. I just mounted them where I wanted them with zip ties, cut off the cigarette lighters, spliced them together, and ran the power to the red terminal of the speaker box, and the ground to the black terminal.

The way we found out you could do this is my friend with the Blazer had an audiobahn bandpass box that came with a flashing neon inside. Very awesome box. We opened it up and say that all they did was run the neon to the subs. I'm pretty sure any neon will flash to the bass whether it is bass responsive or not.

That diagrams for an underbody kit which draws a lot more power than a little interior 10", 15", or 20" neon.

I have two blues in my truck right now. I put them under the dash on the passenger and driver side so they are out of site. They shine down on the floor boards. Looks very cool at night. I just spliced them and hooked them up to a cigarette lighter adapter for now until I get some subs.
