What do you mean by regular grill? Ford puts all kinds of different grilles on their trucks. I have the honeycomb myself with the speed grille.

They make one as long as its not part of the grille surround. If it is, you can buy a new grill surround with the honeycomb in it.

Angry "F" the Street Scend Speed grille

Eposey, where can you buy the new honeycomb with the insert? Do I have to go to Ford for that?

I just put in the SS Speed Grille this morning and I am PISSED!!! The thing fit like a square block in a round hole. It was so hard to get the insert in I ended up scratching the sh%t out of the stock plastic surround. Then when I discarded the clips they gave and used zip ties the whole thing is warped and looks like crap.

I have read a few other posts and see that I am not the only person who has had problems. I realize there is a way to jerry rig it to work, but you should not have to do that unless you are trying to do something different. Just to install it the standard way should not damage your truck. So now I have a $169 piece of sh%t on my truck and additional damage on top of it.

ANYONE OUT THERE CONSIDERING A STREET SCENE GRILLE BE WARNED!!! DO AS MUCH RESEARCH ON THIS SITE AS POSSIBLE PRIOR TO INSTALLING TO FIND OUT HOW TO PROTECT YOUR TRUCK. THE BEST BET IS TO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT AS THEY SELL SH%TTY PRODUCT.

Then to add insult to injury I put the tribal flame emblem around the stock Ford emblem on the tailgate, had it on for about 2 hours before getting the truck washed. The tips were so sharp the towells caught the tips, pulled them off and scratched the hell out of my paint. THE TRUCK IS LESS THAN 2 WEEKS OLD!!!! Dam$it I am having a bad weekend. Screw all the after market crap, I will stick with a stock truck because the crap sold out there is PATHETIC!!!!!

Sorry about the bad luck man. My Speed grilles fit perfectly.

Yes, you can buy the honeycomb and grille surround from ford, but you might be better of to watch the classifieds. My speed grille fit perfectly on top of the existing honeycomb grille.

I think when I get the time I will take it off again, cut away the Ford emblem mount on the stock grille, then try to reattach the SS grill near the front of the opening. Hopefully this won't cause it to bow so much and will hide most of the scratching. I will drill some holes and zip tie it in place. Just wish it fit perfectly like it should have. Oh well, I will make it work somehow. The scratches on the tailgate are a different story, I can probably buff out a couple of them but in one place it actually CHIPPED the paint. Damn I want this day to end.....

Sorry for such bad luck. Stuff like that happens when you mess with painted stuff. What color is your truck. I have a honey comb grill off a 2000 ford lightning. If you would like to buy it. It is just the top piece. I kept the bottom piece and put it on my truck. If you want it is $35 plus shipping.

Thanks Invalid, I may take you up on that. First I am going to try to move the SS grill to the front so it sits flush and see if it hides the scratches. If that doesnt work you may hear back from me. Will that same grill fit an '03 Screw?

The grill will fit 99-03 ford f150. I'd play around with it a little longer maybe you can get that one to work. I mean your just gonna cover it up with speed grill anyway.

What do you mean by 'just the top piece'?

He'll need both the grille surround and honeycomb insert for the speed grille. The speed grille actually fits inside the honeycomb grilles outer lip.

All I would need if I did this is the honeycomb insert, the surround is ok. Just the inside lips as Eposey put it is scratched up..

The ford lightning has two honeycomb grills on it. I bought a set. I kept the bottom grill for my ford lightning bumper cover. The top grill I would have sold him is the entire grill.
