Pics/ Silverstar Turn bulbs installed

Here is a link to the gallery with the Sylvania Silverstar bulbs installed on one side and one side with OEM bulbs. There is a slight difference when lit but will get some more pictures when its really dark out to compare. Note the lights are in the parking light mode and not in flash mode. The bulb also has a blue/purple hue to it when lit from an angle. Looking staright at it its the amber color

Mike, those look great. What are the heads and corners?
We need to have a mini meet at Costco or the new IHOP so I can check those out.

They are the Lightning heads and corners. I was lucky and got a deal on them before the prices went sky high.
Yeah I`ve been waiting on the I-Hop to open
Been a long time since we last meet out there. I`ve added a few things and thought you bought a new truck in that time

There are now pictures of the night shot of the bulbs. They dont look a whole lot different in running light mode but when the flasher works its a noticeable difference. It was next to impossible to get a flash shot with the camera I have but I tried......

It was raining good last time, so I didn't see much of your truck.

I did trade the 99 Lariat Scab for a Escape. That didn't work well after six months, so the Escape got traded for the '03 SuperCrew.

Have to get the families together for an IHOP meet.

I never thought I'd be interested in a headlight mod, but I'm starting to salivate.

Kind of wierd isnt it...Here is the reply from an email I received from the when I asked about that before ordering:

Sylvania devotes significant time and resources insuring that the products we sell are 100% street legal. We design aftermarket products based on our extensive knowledge of the OEM (Ford, GM, Chrysler, etc) specifications and knowledge of DOT and NHTSA requirements. We design our products to meet OEM specifications. In this case, the amber color when lit fulfills the OEM specifications for brightness and color. To help you convince the other members that these bulbs provide 100% street legal amber when lit, it is helpful to understand how we test the bulbs before we ship them to consumers. Our Silverstar signal bulbs start out as clear bulbs that have been pre-tested. The bulbs are then coated with many many layers our our proprietary coating. This process takes up to 2 hours. You can think of it as a custom paint job for a signal bulb which also helps explain why these bulbs are more expensive than your normal 1 layer amber bulbs. We then have very sophisticated color measurement equipment and software that measures every bulb to insure that the bulbs are producing the amber color which complies with SAEJ588 and SAE J222 color requirements. All bulbs that meet our stringent guidelines are then packaged and sold to consumers. All lamps that fail the color requirements are scrapped. We are 100% confident that the bulbs you will be purchasing meet the OEM requirements that the original amber bulb was designed for. Sylvania always stands 100% behind the products we sell.

Here is an alternative to the Silverstar signal bulbs. It doesn't show any blue when off, but lights up amber when turned on. To me it gives a much cleaner look than the blue tint when off.

I'm kind of on the fence post on this one... not sure I like the 'blue' look and, after looking at Harley#356's (Josh) pics, they look REALLY blue to me and just don't 'flow' with the overall look of his vehicle in my opinion...

I like the idea and it's a pretty neat concept but, I think it's going to take the right vehicle to sport them and make them look 'neat'.
