ok...
i found install instructions, now i just need to know how to get the dash off (screw locations)
also, should i remove the factory sticker in the gauge cluster???
this gague set i have is an apc speed glow gauge....i found out....
i suppose the black wire is a ground, and the red one goes to where??....any 12volt source or something specific??....i was gonna wire it to the parking light output so it would glow when parking lights are on......
will that work??

I am finishing my overlay install this weekend. Just use a fork to remove the needles. Yes, you want to remove the factory face - the warning lights won't match up perfectly. As far as the wiring goes, my instructions say to wire to the parking lights. On my 2001 SCrew, that wire is the brown wire coming off the back of the headlight switch.
Do a search on the site for indiglo and you should be able to find the threads that discuss all the screw locations to take the gauges apart.
By the way, my gauge overlay did not come with any directions either, and I ordered them directly from a retailer. Had to call to get them to fax the directions to me.
Good Luck!!

ok...so can you explain the needle removal using a fork to me??
normally i'm not too concerned with taking something apart (i think i completely dismanteled my 01 4x4 at one time or another lol) but i've only had this one for a week....so it still has that new "feel" lol......and i never did venture into the gauge cluster in my o1.....i did hack into all kinds of wires to install my viper alarm with remote start, but no gauge dismantle....
any help is appreciated...i did do a search and read each and every thread about indiglow, apc, gauge overlay ect ect ect....but just want to be 100% clear before i take stuff apart...

The fork is just to get pressure directly under the needles. (I used a golf divot repair tool for mine) These needles are brittle and will break if you don't pry up with even pressure. It sounds scary, but they aren't really all that hard as long as you take your time. Good luck!
What Screwballer said about the fork.
Got the overlay installed this weekend (partially). Splicing into the brown wire was correct. I ended up placing the switch for the overlay (blue/green selector and dimmer) under the driver's side vent next to the radio, behind the panel (just laid it in there). Knew it would be easy to remove that panel if I needed to adjust it. Overall look is good except for the crinkled plastic that covers the digital odometer, which makes it fuzzy looking - not to mention I am using the blue option and the odometer is still green. Therefore, I am going to take the overlay back out, cut out the hazy plastic directly over the odometer, and then get some blue cellophane to cover this opening. Once all of that is taken care of, then I will have fun putting the needles back on.
Only other dislikes are that the gear indicator panel is still black with green lettering and there is not an indicator light for the cruise control, but I guess I can live with that.

Well, I finally finished this dang project!!! Overall, I love the look. Fixed the fuzzy odometer by carefully cutting out the window on the overlay. Then, found a transparent sheet of blue colored plastic and stuck it over the odometer to change it from green to blue - matches the overlay colors perfectly!! The only thing that still looks out of place is the green/ black gear indicator. Thought about taking the blue plastic sheet and covering it to where it would at least glow blue at night.
Have not washed the trucks in almost two months - going to do so this weekend and will take some pics.

OK, I had (have) the same problem. Temp gauge was off because the hole that the needle goes into was too small. If you look at the back of the needle, you will see I small plastic pin that keeps the needle from dropping too far when you turn the truck off. If the hole is tto small in the gauge overlay, this pin will drag and keep the needle from moving to the right position. I ended up bending the pin to where it does not go thru the hole. However, this makes the needle drop way down past the "C" when I turn the truck off. You might have the same problem with the gas needle. The best fix is to enlarge the holes that the needles stick through and then realign the needles. I just have not taken the time to do this. Hope this helps.
That is only for the imports - any gauge kits you buy for the F150 you will have to take the needles off - don't let that stop you - just a little patience and you can get them back on with little effort.
