They actually look more clear to silver if you look on their website. You can find pictures under the product and specs page. "SYLVANIA's SilverStar amber signal bulbs feature the latest breakthrough in European Diadem™ interference coating technology to produce a signal lamp that is sparkling iridescent blue when unlit, and legal amber color when lit." The price is $22.49 for a set of two.

Look at this link and it will show you. Looks like you can get it from their store now and in Auto stores in Oct.

Talk about fast replies... I emailed them a question about the lighting and had a reply back in less than 5 minutes. Thats the fastest I`ve ever gotten a reply back from a website

wow, those are awsome!! I remember somebody posted pics of a chrome bulb that lighted up amber and they were pretty cool, but made by APC so i never got them.

Im thinking about these though, but not sure....would the blue clash with the HD lights? the amber corner kinda matches the amber strip?
Or would the blue go with the chrome reflector?

decisions decisions...what do you guys think?

stick with the amber i just don't think it will look right with the amber strip on the bottom...cool for ppl with the clear diamond corners, but doesn't fit too well on the svt/harley corners.

I was actually thinking that it would look more symmetrical if you had the SilverStar Signal. It would leave the two amber strips below and the top sections would both be silver to the eye.

I agree KingRanchSC02... I just installed the Lightning corners and I'm not too sure the new Sylvanias would look as good as the stock amber bulbs.

******Has anyone found BRIGHTER amber bulbs? Ones that are amber colored but are brighter than stock bulbs when just the parking lights are on? and then of course even brighter when the turn signal is used. I've been seraching the internet and haven't found a 3457 amber bulb that is advertised to be brighter than stock.

I really like the concept of the bulbs but, I'm sticking with Amber for my L corners.... I think you should do the same Josh. I don't think the 'blue' look to the bulbs will look right unless you keep them flashing 24/7.

On certain vehicles, I think this will look great but, not mine...

I'm getting them for 22 bucks and free shipping its no loss if i don't like them and take em out.

Plus its not liek they are bright solid blue, they are barely blue, and on their site they make it look more blue than it really is to show the difference. In person they'll probably be more clear with a slight blue tint that'll probably blend in mostly with the chrome.

I'll post pics and let you guys decide. THeir pics are a bit decieving

Heres a part of the reply I received when I emailed about them being true amber when lit. Dont know if it helps answer any questions on them or not. I have a pair coming also to try them out: Names edited for reason of posting a email...

XXXXXX,

My name is XXXX, XXXX and I am the Product Marketing Manager for Global Signal Lighting for OSRAM Sylvania. Thank you for your interest in our Silverstar Signal Lighting products. Hopefully the following will answer your questions.

1. Sylvania devotes significant time and resources insuring that the products we sell are 100% street legal. We design aftermarket products based on our extensive knowledge of the OEM (Ford, GM, Chrysler, etc) specifications and knowledge of DOT and NHTSA requirements. We design our products to meet OEM specifications. In this case, the amber color when lit fulfills the OEM specifications for brightness and color. To help you convince the other members that these bulbs provide 100% street legal amber when lit, it is helpful to understand how we test the bulbs before we ship them to consumers. Our Silverstar signal bulbs start out as clear bulbs that have been pre-tested. The bulbs are then coated with many many layers our our proprietary coating. This process takes up to 2 hours. You can think of it as a custom paint job for a signal bulb which also helps explain why these bulbs are more expensive than your normal 1 layer amber bulbs. We then have very sophisticated color measurement equipment and software that measures every bulb to insure that the bulbs are producing the amber color which complies with SAEJ588 and SAE J222 color requirements. All bulbs that meet our stringent guidelines are then packaged and sold to consumers. All lamps that fail the color requirements are scrapped. We are 100% confident that the bulbs you will be purchasing meet the OEM requirements that the original amber bulb was designed for. Sylvania always stands 100% behind the products we sell.

2. This Technology is new to North America but we have actually been selling this product to OEM customers for several years in Europe. Due to the cost of the product, you will usually find it on upscale vehicles. You'll find our European Silverstar bayonet (7507A ST) on the Mercedes CLK, the Mercedes A-Class, the Fiat Palio, VW Touraeg, and on the BMW 3 series and mini retrofit kits. We are currently in contract negotiations to place the S8 wedge product on several North American OEM vehicles. I cannot disclose the vehicles but you will start to see them in MY05.
