I have a 2001 XLT 4x4 Supercab. I am wondering if there is any difference in Lightning headlights between 2001 & 2003? If so, which one is the best looking and will they fit right into a truck like mine? Does anyone have any pics? Full frontal? HA!! There are a few pictures of just one side (closeup), but not many showing the entire front end (straight on).

Sorry, I should have metioned that the pics I was looking for are from non-Lightning PU's, like mine, that have the Lightning headlights installed. They do look similar, just thought the 2003 was clearer than the previous models, but maybe not. Also, do you have to replace the side lights if replacing the headlights?

 

the 01-03 Lightning headlights are EXACTLY the same. none are clearer than any others or whatever.

And if you change the headlights, i say change the corners too. why put those super nice looking clear headlights on and still have the crappy looking cloudy corners?

 

Here's a couple pics of my 2001 F150 SuperCrew 4x2 XLT with 2002 Lightning heads, markers, and tailights installed (as well as a new grill too). There are a couple more pics of the nose of my truck from different angles in my gallery if your interested. You won't have any issues fitting these into your truck. If you go for the heads and markers I'd also suggest springing for the taillights to complete the look!

Harley, You are correct the corners will also have to be replaced after viewing the pictures of BigDeal's truck. It'll just be a $$$ issue as to when they get replaced.

Looks great and the frontal pic made up my mind...I'm replacing the headlights with the L's. I'll look into the tails at a later date. I love taillights you have but my truck is not a Screw. I'll have to look at the styleside tails. Thanks again!

 

I think the Harley headlights are nicer. Does anyone know of a place to buy them for under $500? Ouch!

Get the HD ones, they look cooler than the Xenarc's when its daytime outside

 

All a matter of opinion...

And of course, a matter of being able to see at night.

Just give me a call when you need someone to drag you out of the ditch on the side of the road after you attempted to dodge that 10 point buck standing in the middle of the road that you swerved to miss because you didn't see it until it was on top of you...

One other question: How about the clear side marker lights...is there a difference between the Lightning and Harley Davidson? In the pictures shown above the Lightning clear side markers appear to have a amber-colored reflective base around the bulb. Or is it just the bulb color being reflected?
I've been to a couple of sites and the pictures there show the side marker part numbers to be the same between these models, and the pictures show the marker lights as clear except for the amber horizontal reflector bar at the bottom.

The L and HD corners are almost exactly alike. they are all chrome with the amber strip at the bottom. the orange circle is just from the bulb reflecting on the chrome.

anyway, the 02 HD corners had a frosted HD logo in the bottom outside corner, they stopped this though.
the 01-03 L corners are slightly lighter in color compared to the 03 HD corners...the amber part

check out this pic....the 3rd corner in from the left is a L corner. the 2nd and 4th are HD corners. you can see the color difference
