I am looking to purchase an amp for my '01 L. In my last car, I had a 5 channel Soundstream that never had any problems and pushed the Boston Pros very nice. But in my visit to a local car shop, he was saying the JL 5 channel amp is doing well in the competitions. I am not looking to compete but would like a nice sounding ride that can hit with the boom when I want it to. Any suggestions beyond these two amps? Has anyone had luck with the JL?

 

I have heard that the JL amps have great cooling and it is very rare for them to over heat so i would assume that they are good amps as for there subs i like the way they sound nice crisp bass. I am going with 2 JL amps 1 300/4 and a 500/1.
