amplifier install
Wondering if any you guys got pictures of wires being run from the battery to the amp. I'm getting ready to install 2 10" kicker solobarics in my L with a MTX 2300 amp. I have a 100 amp wafer fuse and just wanted to see some pictures of the engine on how you guys are running the wires.
No pics, but it was incredibly easy! Drop your power wire down behind the wheel well behind the battery. From there it'll snake down and hang out the bottom. Then pull up your passenger side kick panel( just pull, no screws) and punch a small hole in the rubber plug that is right under the edge of the carpet. Feed in your power cable through the rubber plug (if you cut it small enough it'll stretch around your wire and make a water tight seal). From there some run it up under the seat and out a factory hole in the carpet, or I mounted my amp on the back wall. Just remember, if you're gonna take out those back interior wall panels, you gotta push in the centers of those little plastic fasteners, but don't push them too hard. The center will fall back into the truck and be lost forever.
My description will seem weird, but once you pull up that kick panel, you'll see exactly where I mean. My way was a TON easier than coming through the firewall next to the boost gauge hose, but it's all personal preference. This also assumes that you won't be using huge *** gauge wire (I used 8 ga.)

sorry, didn't have time to reply earlier..

just like he said.. down the inner fender liner, and up thru the sill plate.. i have a circuit breaker mounted in front of my battery, the wire runs to it then under the battery.
hope this helps.

clonetek,
Nice looking install, and good pix of the wiring.
Sweet setup on those Solobarics. There's no doubt that the cab of your truck hits pretty hard. Being a fellow Solobaric owner, I can attest to their capabilities. Nice job...............JB

For fuses and stuff I usually visit: www.beamriders.com store in my area (BC Canada).
Crutchfield is ok but not one of the cheaper places to buy from.
