AMP Mounting '99 Ext Cab Captains Chairs
I am about to take the plunge and install an amp for my 99 XLT extended cab with captains chairs & center console.
Has anyone mounted their amplifier in the center console on a Ext Cab with Captains Chairs? It looks like there's room if the amp is small enough, but heat may be a problem? How would I get the wires to/from this area?
All help is appreciated.

Don't do it!!!!!!!!!!!!The heat will really be a problem. I have the same setup like you with Capt. Chairs. Wait a day or so. I will be posting pic. of my equipment. I mounted My Alpine Amp under my seat. I'll show you what I did with my center console. It is still fully functional.

I have the captain's chairs in a reg cab. I put my amps under the seats. I put my cd-changer in the center console. I guess that mounting the amps under the front seats could be a problem with rear seat passengers feet being so close, but it depends on their size (amps and feet)

I've seen someone on this site that has an ext. cab and mounted an amp under the drivers seat, but I can't remember who.
