I ran into something today during my install and I'm not sure what to do. I am going to run a small Kenwood amp with my stock HU but the HU doesn't have a amp turn on wire according to InstallDr. So how should I connect the power and amp turn on wire. Should I tie the amp turn on to an accessory/ignition wire? If I do that the amp will be on anytime the truck is running even if the HU is off. Any advice is appreciated.

 

The accessory ignition wire is exactly what you can tie too, this way the amp comes on with the key. Power antenna leads are commonly used for remote turn on as well.
