Cool Mounting Location

I have never posted in this forum because I've never had a system. However, I finally got a sub and I'm going to get an amp. I'm getting an MTX. I was thinking that since they are silver and black (like my truck), it would be cool to mount it some place visible. Anyone have any ideas on where I should put it. Pics would be nice too. Thanks for any input.

Cant get a pic sorry, but i was thinking in that little compartment straight down from the AC controls, if it would fit and you could get it wired right then i think that would be perfect, good luck!

Ceiling, Back of the Center Console, inbetween the seats on the seat back. Literally any place in that truck is possible given the time and the means.

Thanks for the feedback guys. From the searches I've done, it seems like a lot of people hide them under the front seats or behind the back seat. I haven't seen anyone mount them where they can be seen.

The only thing I have in sight is my capacitor which is under the rear passenger side:

Because our trucks are the easiest truck to break into I put my amps on the back wall behind the rear seat for security:

DON"T mount it in the ceiling. I mounted mine in the back right where the thrid brake light is, didn't like it, heated up somewhat. Then i mounted it right above my head in the headliner, it heated up even MORE. Amps aren't really meant to be mounted up ther usnless you play it like once a month or do it just for show. I will not mount it there again.

I have a 2011 F150 FX2 Sport and I am planning on installing an Alpine PDX-5 together with a AudioControl LC6i line converter on the cabin wall behind the back seats, similar to your setup.

Question -- how did you remove the backrests for the rear seats? Also, what are you using as a mounting surface there (looks like 3/4 particle board) and is the back wall of the cabin double walled in all areas to allow for safe drilling, or just in specific locations?

I used 1/4 pine wood, no need for anything else. The back wall is doubled in certain spots you can mount your wood to.

To remove the back seat I would highly suggest doing a search on these forums or youtube as the removal can be tricky. Basically, not sure on your year but on most years there are 2 clips you have to push tabs on and then lift on the back seat.

Once you get your back seat out I suggest you zip tie the clip back so you can remove your seat in seconds next time you need to remove it.

Excellent info, thanks for the pics, really cleared it up.

Will be aquiring components over the next few weeks. I will post details and pics of my install as it progresses
