Now I need a sub

Hey,
A week after installing this amp I swore I would not get subs or an additional amp for subs. So I wired it with 8 gauge. Now, I keep getting all sorts of distortion from my full range speakers trying to produce bass. What options do I have?
I kept all the factory speaker wire taped off inside the doors except for one which was cut by accident (back drivers side). I have wired all the door speakers directly to the amp. I thought i would run 2 channels on the front doors and bridge the rears to power one 10'. But since I cut the factory wire off beyond me fixing it I won't have any power out of one of those speakers.
My amp is mounted on the center "hump" in the floor under the seat. are there any sub box configurations that would prevent me moving my amp? And what is the best bang per buck sub that will run on 80x2 @ 4 ohm channels?
Note: I may eventually put a mono block to power a better sub setup, but I need something to hold me over for a year or two.
Thanks
Tanner

i thought about getting one 8in JL that is 150rms to put under the front seat if I could just figure out some sort of enclosure that would fit. I might eventually get a mono block and 2 JL 8in higher powered subs

As for the bass coming out of your door speakers, you need to turn the amplifier's high-pass filter on which will eliminate low frequencies from going to the doors. The low frequency level can be adjusted by the X-over on the amplifier. If you have a stock headunit, you can turn down the headunit bass, that usually takes the bass from the doors.

Now since your amplifier is a 4 channel amp, you can bridge the rear channels to run 200Wrms @ 4ohms. Get a 4ohm subwoofer that fits the number and you have your sound system.

As for your cut speaker wires, you should really consider extending it. Since it's the rear speaker, you'd need to remove the door panel for it. Your other option would be to leave that and focus on improving your front sound stage.
