Save your self the aggrevation and just cut off the latches once you get the seat out. Then next time you have to pull your seat, it'll come out in about 30 seconds.

In stead of cutting it I simply taped mine back so they didn't close when you put the seat back in, and that way it's reversible.

The first time you take it out it helps to have somebody with really small hands that can just reach back there and press the tabs in. That was the key for me.

Correct, but the tabs are not needed at all. The hooks at the top of the seat back are what holds the seat in place, so since the tabs were not needed I just cut them off completely and you never have to worry about them again.

I pulled the rear seat back by myself and put zip ties on the latches and it can be pulled in literally 30 seconds now.

Is there no risk of it coming off in an accident? It'd be nice not to have to fight those clips again.

In a roll over, the seat could easily slide up, and the weight x force of the seat back coming up in a roll would pull the seat belts tight around who ever is sitting in the rear seat.

Only possibility of it being more dangerous to disengage the tabs, though I think that if enough force were exerted on the rear seat that the two bolts holding the plastic seat belt piece on the top of the seat were stripped or simply broke the plastic and went down through it that the tabs would not stand a chance anyway.

I don't know, the tabs did very well against my 240 lbs the first time I tried to get it out, haha.

If I were in a rollover, the seat staying in place would be the least of my worries. Just keep the truck shiny side up and you're good.

Hey to remove back seat do I need to remove seat belt? I don't have that tool to remove seat belt. I just orderd a JBL GTO14001, that amp is long 18" 1/2. Would a pieace of plywood work great to mount amp? Our should I just mount with out plywood? Any help would be great thanks.

Even with my big adz hands and huge forearms I can get the seat unclipped in seconds once I figured out the trick. I shove my hand through the junction between the top/back, palm down. I can maneuver just enough to get my thumb on the release tab. Takes very little pressure, the tabs aren't stiff at all. Put some pressure on the tab, give the top of the seat a light tap, and the pressure of having my arm shoved in the junction causes the seat to pop right up.
