Amp mount spot on a 01 Screw

I have a 2001 Screw that I am starting up upgrade my system on.
I want you mount my amp behind the seat (In the cubby), But I Don't know if that is a good spot because of heat.

My other spot is under the seat, but my box is going to take up alot of that room.

Can someone tell me how they mounted theirs in the Screw? And would there be any problem with me mounting it in the cubby?

Behind seat in cubby is fine. Mine has been there for years with no heat problems.

Nothing special about my 140K daily driver. Interior is stock. Can't see amp as it is inside storage compartment behind back seat. Sub is just a grey carpeted box under seat. I should create an album though I guess. I do have some plans for spring so some before and after shots are in order. I have some rust that needs repair so I am going to give it a facelift.

I am looking for a narrow top grey expy console for mine as well. I find wide top ones but I need the narrow one because I have gen 1 captains with armrests.

I mounted mine underneath my rear seat on my 02 screw. My sub box is behind my rear seat. i was going to use the cubby but that idea went out the window when I bulit my box- just DON'T mount it to the underside of the seat or under the front seats amps will get heat soaked from not being able to radiate the ambeint heat that they produce

I installed 2 amps in that storage compartment behind the seat in my 02 SuperCrew. Have had them in there for a year and all is good.

id run the wires under the pastic peice in the doorway in the floor. Like when you step into your truck that plastic peice on the edge. just unscrew it tape the wires to the floor and screw back in just dont hit a wire when screwing back in.

I did this in all my older trucks i had. but no pics sry

I'll try to take some pics in the morning if thats ok. What I did was remove the right hand cubby door. Then I cut the hole longer to allow room and breathing room for the second amp. I agree with BigTruckGuy on the wires. I ran them down through the thresholds although I don't have any screws. My thresholds just pop off with a little effort and then snap back in. The one tip I do remember though is to make sure you run your RCA's and your power (from the battery) on opposite sides of the truck. So I ran my power wire down the passenger side of the truck and the RCA's on the drivers side. Hope this helps. I'll get some pics of the amps. Not real easy to get pics of the wiring through the thresholds though, sorry.

I decided to quit being lazy. Here's a pic of my amps mounted on the back wall. The crossovers are mounted on the far left. I used an MDF board to mount the amps to.

As for getting the wires back there, the only way is to remove your rear seat and remove the plastic storage compartment. Well I'm not sure if thats the only way, but its what I did and made life easier with the wiring.
