And I forgot to address why run the wires separate, I believe it was due to interference and noise in your system. Hope this helps.

Can you post pictures on how you made it into the cubby with the wires?

How about I try to describe it to you. When I did this in my truck, I had removed the entire back row of seats. Then I removed the entire storage compartment front (there were some screws on the bottom I believe and tabs on the top edge, maybe some screws). With those out, life was easier. I removed the thresholds and ran the wires through those all the way to the back. When you get to the back of the truck, the threshold opening leads you up under the plastic on the rear pillar. You just have to make sure your wire doesn't get pushed under that black liner in the cubby. I cut holes in mine so I actually did go under it and then pulled the wires out of the holes. Otherwise, you just need to grab the wire before it goes under. This takes a bit of finger maneuvering but its manageable. I'm not sure I could get pictures that would really help with all of these parts still in the truck. No offense, but I'm not sure I want to remove all that again either. I'm sure you can get it though once you remove all that. You'll see where the openings take you. I remember on the passenger side, I had a harder time because as I was pushing the wires through the hole, they kept following the path of wires already in there and running up into the pillar or getting stuck. Let me know if you need anything else.

Oh and I also removed the Jack and its holding plate. Allows you to maneuver that liner in the cubby easier.

I did all of my install without removing the seat. I just folded the seat forward.

Yeah I guess you're right, it probably could have been done that way. I think I got so used to not being able to fold my seat all the way forward since I have a sub box under it, that I forgot it actually would lay down far enough for me to do all that work! Oh well, it was still very easy to access the back wall without all that stuff in there, but to the OP, you could check and see if you can do it that way.

Hey guys. Im in the process of wiring an amp in my 01 screw as well. Ive got everything wired except for the remote wire, and the speaker wires for my l.o.c. (I'm keeping the factory head unit).
Does anyone have the wire color codes for speakers and where to wire the remote wire? Possibly recommend a website where i can get wiring diagrams? Thanks.
Mine went under the back seat btw, but i had the back compartments out as well to run wires.

nozzle...www.the12volt.com should have what your looking for as far as wiring goes. You want to get tap your remote wire into 12v switched at the deck, and add a fuse withing 6 or so inches.

Thanks for the tip on the wiring! As for the back deck, its easy. 4 or 5 bolts along the bottom then just open the compartment, grab the pannel and tug. It should pop the plastic grommets up top. The outer grommets are the barbed kind and the rest are just pushed onto threaded posts. It will then lift up and out. About 5 min total.

I'm going to try to do a write up on this when I do it. It will probably be on Monday of next week. That's my next day off. I will write up on how to remove the back pannel, how to install my amp, and also how to install the sub box that I got. I hope this helps!!

Sorry Poolboy, I was out of town the first part of the week. I'm pretty sure I grounded both of my amps to the floor of the cab of the truck. I used a dremel tool to grind away all the paint and made it clean. I think I then used a large self-tapping screw and bolted it down. Hope that helps. I'll take a peek back there just to confirm this and if its something different, I'll let you know.
