Do the amps overheat on the back wall? The answer is no...so I highly doubt it will under the center console...assuming you can even get it to fit.

He said in the console, and be it either the XLT or flow through console, they are both cavernous on the inside. Never thought about putting an amp in there.

You mean inside the pocket of the console that comes out? Theres no way an amp would fit in there, I know underneath mine there is a lot of room, but if he has the flow through console, he may run into issues with the shifter depending on how big his amp is.

I don't know if you've seen in one before but there's a ton of room in both types of those consoles.

Ive only ever been under the cupholder/shifter area to run wires for a switch...never taken the back end apart.

Depending on the size, I'm betting you could fit it under the center console... that's IF you have the flow-through console (with air ducts in the rear) and you're willing to sacrifice them, then you could remove that duct work and mount an amp to the floor or to the bottom of the console. It's all about size at that point. With the duct work fitting down into there, you would get plenty of air movement from the dash out the back of the console, so wouldn't worry about overheating
