Well, that sub you have (rockford p3sd410) is a dual-4 ohm voicecoil sub. So, more than likely you have it wired as a 2ohm setup. (Parallel wiring). Since you already have a Dual Voicecoil sub, you would want to buy another one identical, to give you the option to wire it in Series to get a 4ohm load, as that RF amp will get a little pissy if you run it at 1ohm. Years of USAC DB Drag racing with RF products tells me that 2ohms is about what they are good for everyday use, if you want it to last. 4 ohms is cruise control for them, but wont yield the most power.

You can check out the RF library docs for this woofer here:

Or, if you are a visual learner, here is a picture that shows many different wiring options.

OK that was great if i woulda found that link i coulda made sence of it all....finally one more question! after telling my older brother what I had planned to do he told me he has a old MTX 12in sub in his attick that works my question is will the 2 voices (the mtx and the rockford) mix badly or is it something that only a trained ear can hear? I listen to Country and Some southern rock and of coarce like to jam out but dont want the infoumouse ground shaking effect either i like the hard but fast recoiling kind of effect... so what im also asking is if the 12 is gona sound like that or what the deal is gime a heads up to a newb

As a general rule, I'd say NO to mixing sub sizes/brands/etc. Each sub has its own set of specs where it likes to operate, and if you mix them up in the same airspace, you will undoubtedly be compromising the sound of one, or both of them.

You could run the single 12 and see if you liked it, but I would advise against mixing and matching.

FYI, theres no way that 200-2 is gonna be able to push two 400w rms subs.
