Same here.. Need an adapter for my 2001 SCrew King Ranch. I've decided I like the factory 6-disc changer and head unit, and I don't really like the speaker level to RCA line converters.

 

I never seen anything like that that isn't a line level to RCA converter. How else would it work? Just replace it all. It will sound better, believe me. You can keep the OEM and reinstall if you sell it. Or sell your deck/changer on the auction, someone will want it. Mt stereo totaled about 1000 dollars for a head unit, 4 speakers, 1 sub-amp, 2 10" subs and two boxes for the subs. I think it's worth it for a daily driver..

I bet Best Buy, Cicuit City would have them. I know the 2001 and the 1999 are the same harness. I used to have a 1999 and when I got my 2001 the harness was the same.

Also, what exactly is the reverse harness for? I want to keep my OEM deck and changer with the same factory speakers, but hook up an additional amp with my subwoofer. Is this what it is for?

 

TX4X4 and dufunnel,
I just completed installing 2 amps. a R/F punch 100z2 and a R/F punch 400a4 and connected them to my factory HU. I picked up a harness from radiosandmore and did some cutting and splicing. If you guy's aren't in a big hurry, I'll post the "how to's" later next week. I still have to get my SCrew back together. If you can't wait, get the CD Changer Harness, Short Version XU3F-14588-AB. from radiosandmore or your local Ford dealer. Go to http://www.installdr.com/Harnesses/Ford-Wiring.pdf for the pinouts of the H/U plug. It's the last picture at the bottom of the page. The wire colors may not be correct however the pin descriptions are correct.

MN-Trap: How are you using your two amps? Did you replace the factory speakers and are now running an amp to those and another amp to a sub? Also, with regards to the cd changer harness, I have a cd changer. Will it render mine useless, or is it an addition to the whole setup?

Looking forward to the how-to's. I have no problem with aftermarket decks, but I have no clue when it comes to the factory one.

Oh yeah, also include if you would how you connected the remote turnon wires as well. That is a question that I have not fully gotten an answer that satisfies me.

dufunnel, No I haven't forgotten about you guys. I spent all day yesterday installing a MTX 8" sub in my Expy center console. Thanks to Fedex Pilot for the how-to on that installation. https://www.f150online.com/f150board...ML/000132.html
I have a Cobra 75WXST and external speaker to install in the center console yet. I was going to install one of those antenna adapters that allow's you to use the am/fm antenna. (No output) I decided to use a magnet base antenna instead, I can put it up when I'm traveling. Really don't need it around town. I'll try and get something posted tonight or tomorrow for you.

dufunnel, Here is the wiring information I put together for connecting two amps to the stock H/U. http://www.fpage.com/rbaker/amp_wiring.htm
The remote turn-on/off wire (switched power) keeps the power off in the amps until power is applied to the "switched power" wire.

I noticed you have the Visteon MP3 player, how do you like it? That will be my next upgrade.

I love it. I got the white one with tan stripes that matches the tan interior, and it accents everything very nicely. The white will eventually match the face guages when I replace those. The Visteon is the best of both worlds, stock and aftermarket, put together, plus I can still use my stock changer. Just what I wanted. Thanks for the help, it will come in very handy.
