Post Running power wire for an amp?

I am working on running an amp in my 2000 Lightning. Two questions. Looking at the positive side of the battery it has two wires coming off of it, is there any reason for that? And because of that does it change anything about the normal way of running a power wire? I will be running a 4 gauge wire into a circuit breaker. Second question is where do you run your power wire though the firewall? Did you drill a hole and use a plug or did you use an existing hole?

Thanks

John

I used a hole that was already there in my 99 f-150 it was located right under the carpeting under the gas pedal. I dont know if it is the same for your truck though.
