How to change from 4omp to 2omp

You need to have a dual voice coil sub. Some subs now are coming with single 1ohm,2ohm,3ohm etc...or dual 2ohm, etc. But alot of them come in dual 4ohm or single 4ohm. I think the JLAudio web site gives a good tutorial on it. Most manufacture sites have something to give you an idea of what's going on.

When you bridge you're amp, you have a positive speaker terminal and a negative speaker terminal. All you have to do is wire the subs in paralell, all the positive sub wires to the positive speaker terminal and all the negative sub wires to the negative speaker terminal. You must be sure you're amp is 2 ohm, 1ohm, 1/2 ohm stable, or whatever you will be running. The impedance is pretty easy to figure out. 2-4 ohm subwoofers in paralell=2 ohms. 4-4ohm subs=1/2 ohm. Hope this helps.

What brand/model sub are you useing? most likely they are single voice coils and 4ohm each? Here is a good site for you. http://go.to/bcae

If you've got three 4 ohm subs you'll come out with an impedance of about 1.3 ohms. This is OK if you're amp is stable down to that. Most of the time when people run three subs, they run either three six ohm subs for a 2 ohm load, or three 12 ohm subs for a 4 ohm load.
Silver X,
Yes it can get crazy, but if you have four 4 ohm subs and wire both pairs in paralell (2 ohm load/pair) and then wire the two pairs in series to the amp, you come out with a 4 ohm load. Thats the kind of wiring scheme some of these guys who are running 12 and 14 subs use.
