Capacitor question?
Capacitors will help pretty much any system. Where you really find them helpful is with amps with unregulated power supplies (rockford, PPI, basically cheater amps.) That is because the more juice these amps draw, the more power you get. When you put a big stereo system in your truck, or any amount of electrical devices that puts a strain on your charging system, you ask your battery to do the exact opposite of what it was designed for-quickly give up power. Batteries are designed to charge and hold electricity. Caps on the other hand are designed to charge and release power on demand very quickly. So when you need to hit that low bass note, the power is there and your amp doesn't fall flat on it's face. Caps work well with any system because they keep the power flowing constantly. Your bass is more accurate and precise. If you are playing your system at moderate to high levels, a cap can improve the harmonics immensely. Just my opinion.

I am looking at putting a sweet system in my truck and I was wondering how much power do you have to have before you need a cap.? I am planning on running a 600 watt amp for the subs and a 80 watt to the rest. Will I need a cap.? Thanks.
