Amp Install question

I just checked and I have the molex. I'll have to figure it out I guess. I'll either drill new holes and go the easy way out and splice into the factory wire, which is actually the way a couple of tech reps at the vendor told me to do it. I was told you're only sacrificing 10 to 15% in overall sound quality. Would love to run all new wire though.

ok i see... well this is a process . the back doors are easy, remove the side panel, get a panel removal tool, take off seat belt bracket, remove door panel, fish wires through the rubber boots. the fronts if u have the molex connectors u have to drill.. this is alot to explain. arcuhtek has a very good detailed build log, he can type better than me here is a link http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/...w-install.html

yep u can drill w/o removing door. here is a link to my picture galley. amps on wall behind seat, under seat the only trouble with amp on floor is u can only have one sub, and its easy to steal.. on back wall, no one sees it. where i live that is very important...helps keep stock look as well

Screw drilling out the molex. Money says the majority of the people who say they just went through the factory rubber boots in the fronts doors....do NOT even realize that they, in fact, do not have trucks with the molex style connectors.

Just wanted to follow up for anyone interested. Installed my amp over the weekend and it went beautifully. My system sounds 10X as good as it did before. Thanks to all for the responses and advice, especially to Archutek for taking the time out to PM some additional information.

Following up to this thread after many months. JJDH or ArcuhTek.......have you had problems with the sleeving and wiring insulation around your speaker wires at the front cracking from the cold temperatures? We've had a pretty cold winter here in SE VA. Both the left and right wires in the front now have exposed copper showing. The clear sleeving AND insulation has cracked and opened up from all the opening and closing the doors...and I'm assuming primarily from when the temperature is really low and everything gets hard. Have you guys had this problem? Did you find a fix? Tape?
