Umm. The alternator/battery decides the voltage. Not the HU... Kinda confused how you got that.

Back in 1990, I bought a series VII Hifonics Zeus and a series VII Hifonics Gemini. They were both $600 each at the time and were some serious amps. Here are some photos for those who never saw these "real" hifonic amps.

Hifonics then vs Hifonics now = two completely different stories. Sucks when companies find out how to make big $$ and veer away from the quality standard.

Yeah, back then they were owned by Zed Audio and were 100% American. These days, it's just more Chinese crapola.

Now that's a stroll down memory lane. They used to sell these in Tulsa at a place called Cost Warehouse. They sold furniture, appliences, all kinds of stuff. But back in a corner they had a car audio section and sold these old school HiFonics amps. They were built like tanks. Good stuff

I don't believe Steven Mantz (Zed Audio) ever owned Hi Fonics . He did however build their car amplifiers for them , just like he did for Lanzar , Crunch , Autotek and Alphasonic to name a few . Man I miss the 80's and 90's , when we had (GOOD) Soundstream , Lanzar , Autotek , ADS , Fosgate , PPI , Orion , US Amps ,Alpine , Cadence , Earthquake ,Pheonix Gold ,Cerwin Vega and many others . I have used every brand mentioned above , at some point throughout the years . None of these company's still in business today , can hold a candle to their old stuff . It's all made over sea's with cheaper parts .
