Kenwood amp problem?!?!
Kenwood amp problem?!?!
ok so here is the situation, i have just built my new box and it goes under my seat. but when i finished my box i realized i didnt have all the supplies to put my seat back in but i was too anxious to here my subs so i hooked them up to hear them. so i did and they worked fine (and sounded amazing
). so here is where the problem started...last night i finally got what i need to put my seat in, so i disconected the subs and put the seat in (mind you this was very little movement of the box and subs). so i got it all put back together and hooked my subs up and they werent working! so i went through all the normal checks...wires going to subs, input to amp wires, amp turn on wire and of course the power and ground...everything was hooked up fine. and i have a red power light on the amp and it was on. so my guess was that the subs may have come disconected in the box. but i didnt want to disassemble the whole seat again yet so i decided to check all the fuses and stuff just to make sure. so i pulled out my fuse on the amp and looked at it. it seemed fine. so i went to put it back in and when i did, i sparked a little... but the fuse was still alright. so i thought maybe there was a little power saved up in there...no big deal. but after that, i went to turn it on and now the amp light flashes on and then goes back off. so now im scared that i blew my amp. do these get blown that easily? and yes the power to the truck was off when i pulled the fuse. but the power cable was still connected...was that my mistake? but that still doesnt fix my problem to start with that the subs werent playing. does anyone have any ideas as to what may be the problem? atleast for the amp not turing on now? i can deal with re wireing my subs or something but i dont want to have to buy a new amp. here is the exact subs and amp set up i have: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_113PW61...ge.html?tp=442
any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

i think your amp may be going into protect mode, its hard to say though, since your subs are in a ported box now, turn the gain down and see if that makes a difference if not the amp is likely blown
Thanks for responding...but i dont have it ported yet...but i have fixed it!! it was a combination of several things.
1. bad ground connection
2. the end pieces for the wires i purchased dont conduct electricity very well (which is wierd cause that is what they are for) wont be buying those again.
3. between the many times i took out the fuse, it wasnt seated right i guess.
those these are the things i found when i went through and checked everything looking at every detail possible. but i think you were right, the light just flashing on was the symbol of protection i guess.
Im sorry i posted a thread and then fixed it so quickly.
