No there are 2 layers of metal with about .75" gap between them, so the screws go through the first layer but not the second.

Are you guys using the screws that come with the amp when installing directly onto the back wall (without using a board). I'm so scared that I'm going to poke a hole in the back wall.

Low I'm trying to decide if I want to mount the amp on the back wall or mount a piece of wood on the back wall than mount the amp. If I use wood, how thick or thin should it be and if I don't use wood will I run into any sound issues being that its on bare metal.

One other question. If I mount the amp higher than lower on that back wall will I have issues with my back seat going back and fit properly or will it stick out some.

I used a piece of 1/8" masonite board. You don't need much, just something to keep them in space.

Is there enough room for a cylinder style capacitor to fit behind the back seat?

if u mount amp high it needs to be below the crossbar on back of seat, look and u will see, i found also that i had to trim down the posts on my rear seat headrest, so it would go all the way back down,no big deal, i used 1/2" oak plywood, wrapped it with felt, the main thing for wood is so amp isnt mounted on metal, and so u can mount ur wires and distro blocks easily, i used all self tappers with a 5/16 head on them, i like those better bcause they dont strip out like phillips head, just a preference. i only used oak bcause the store had precut pieces for 6 dollars. the mdf, i could only get a whole sheet, it was 26 dollars. http://www.f150online.com/forums/mem...42-640x480.jpg

if its no deeper than 3".. prolly have to mount it up about 6" off floor, why bother with it though, wouldnt a second battery be better than a cap
