New amp help!!!
I've got a pair of 12" Kicker cvx's and i was looking for an amp to push plenty of power to them.. my price range is under $500 for sure. As you can tell I dont have the slightest cluue when it comes to stereos. I would go to my local dealer but they just tell you loads of bull to try and rip you off the most
you could look at the hifonics brutus 1608
or maybe something from power acoustik, but for under 500 you're not gonna get anything that is anything close to high quality, but i guess with kickers you don't really care about that

I know a lot about car audio so if you would like me to help out i'd more than glad to. But do me a favor and do not get that amp that is on ebay. it is garbage, no joke. here i set you up with what you need at crutchfield. taking into concept you dont have a wiring kit. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-o2YLwvs...n/viewcart.asp. that is what you will need. it will give you all the boom the CVR's can give.

He has CVX's not CVR's. You should know the difference.
yeaa, like i said. 1500 watts for under 500 with good quality is going to be tuff.
again, for the price, Hifonics 1608. some people swear by them, some people hate them. i almost got one but decided to shell out a few more dollars for better quality with a little less power. but thats just me.

i apologize that i had read that wrong. but ohm's dont really matter that much with the amp you get. when you get subs you need to run a mono amplifier regaudless or you wont get the full sound that the subs are supposed to push. The kicker ZX1500 mono would work for you. Run a 4-gauge wiring kit too.

Ohms dont matter?

4 ga with 1500w or 125(ish)Amps.

You really know car audio?

First of all, ohms matter a TON, because it will let you know the approx amount of power per sub.
Second, 4 ga? 125A at 15 ft is minimum of 2ga. But 1/0ga is a much better wire size to trust
The ZX1500 may not be a good choice. If he has dual 4's his wiring options are 1, 4 or 16ohms. That amp is not 1ohm stable and will not operate at that resistance (under normal circumstances). If then wired at 4 ohms each sub will get approx 375w bit shy of the 750w RMS....
(I seem to really like smilies today...)
hahaha, i'm not so sure that our homeboy monstercable actually sold car audio. i'm for sure not a dealer and know enough about it that ohms matter. but my advice to you stowe44 is to stick with whatever Low_e_Red, C. Whammy, and Bartak1 have to say. i have read a ton of these guys posts and i believe 150% that they know there sh#*!
