Amp question

I have 2 kicker 10's l7's. My question is, is a zx1000.1 good enough to push both or is the zx2500.1 a better choice?

i have the 750.1 pushing my 2 CVR 10s. i know that kicker rated my amp at putting out 943 watts. if i remember right, the RMS on the L7s is 600 or 800 (cant remember) but if i were you, id go with the 2500.1, IMO. you would prolly be better off getting some more opinions though.

1000.1!!! 2500... is about 1300W too much.

If you had dual 4 ohm coils, you could wire the coils in parallel to 2 ohms and buy a pair of these 750.1s at half price from an authorized dealer. Each amp driving a sub @750 RMS into 2 ohms. Probably more like 850 or 900, in reality. It's always nice to have the dynamic headroom that is provided by having more power on hand than what you need. It helps keep from driving the amp into clipping if you set everything up correctly.

Lol. The ZX2500.1 would just about kill them. I'd actually go for the ZX1500.1 and set your gains conservatively. Your subs will handle a CLEAN 750WRMS each all day long. Clean power.. That means don't go 'bass ****' crazy...

Everyone, thank you for your input. I am looking at the zx1000.1 and the zx1500.1 now. My sub are 4ohm single voice coil. Again, thank you for any advice, and it is always welcomed

L7's are DVC woofers.

Im sorry I was thinking L5's (I sell too many of em). The 1500.1 is perfect for those.

Your right, they are DVC's, my fault for not thinking right. Being DVC's do I need a different kinda amp? or can I still go with the zx1000.1 or zx1500.1? Is mono the way to go or class D? I'm new to the solobarics and DVC, I've mainly had jl audio. Again, thanks for the advive and input..

Two DVC-4 ohm drivers cannot equal a 2-ohm final impediance. Either 1-Ohm or 4-Ohms. none of the ZX series amps are 1-ohm stable so I'd check out a Hifinics a BXi-1606d. Then you can run them at a lower impediance. The older KX series amps from Kicker are also one ohm stable.

If you can make room and can afford the 2500.1, buy it and run your set-up at 4 ohms. Your amp will thank you.

His bone-stock electrical system would thank him even more. But that amp is still way unnecessary for two 10" L7's..

1250 watts continuous into 4 ohms(actually more like 1400 or 1500) sounds pretty good to me for 2 L7s. It will drive those puppies to their optimum performance easily. And it's always good to have the headroom that TOO much power permits. An amp's RMS rating is simply a tool to inform the user of capabilities, but certainly doesn't mean the user should ever drive the amp to anywhere near that point if it can be avoided, which it surely could in this case.

And you're right, the electrical system would be thrilled.
