Question Amp wiring problem

Well I kind of went a little overboard with my wiring kit I think, it has 4ga. power & ground wire. I have an Alpine MRP-M650 and the connection lugs on the amp are too small for the 4ga. wire and I dont have, or cant find any connectors to fit the wire that will fit in the lugs. I used 8ga wire for the speaker from the amp and it fits fine in the lugs and I have some left over so I was thinking of making 2 pig tails to drop the size down, but I'm not sure of the best way to do it. I tried soldering(which i SUCK at) and I failed miserably.

Any other suggestions?

How do you suck at soldering? its so easy lol.

maybe you need an 8 gauge wiring kit. whats the power output on your amp? im thinking your going to need to fit that 4gauge wire somehow, someway.

400w amp.

I got a kicker amp kit and it has terminals for the wire but they dont fit the amp lugs. I think I might MAKE them fit?

There are a couple things that I would try.

1. http://cgi.ebay.com/SOUND-QUEST-BY-S...QQcmdZViewItem

2. Shave the wire down if you can keep as many strands as possible, just enough to squeeze it in the terminal...

3. Stick a distro block in there and run a short length of 8 gauge from the dist block to the amp.

Either trim the wire strands down so it fits or you can buy a wire reducer. I know companies like stinger make them. They make a 4 awg to 8 awg reducer. You can also do like bartak1 said and just buy a distobution block that goes from 4 to 8 and a small piece of 8 awg and go from there. I would suggest the distro block.

Good luck, post pics,
