Thats damn near pushing 16 gauge at the length of wire your running (from the rear all the way up to the front)

That amp does look sexy back there though.
Thanks. I like just staring at it. I'm going to be sad to seal it up with the seat back. LOL. I'll have to pull the seat back off once in a while just to gaze upon it.

So, you think even the 16 gauge is not enough?!!? This is KnuKonceptz Twisted pair 16 gauge copper.... it seems like quite a bit of conductor....

=\ Now ya got me really worried about the factory 20 gauge....

Your still within that realm of being ok with the 16 gauge, its in the upper limit though if you ask me.
I hate to say that its not enough since you just bought it all and installed it, but sure as heck wouldnt hurt to go up to a 14 gauge.

You should be worried about the stock 20 gauge. 20 gauge at 2 ohm...I wouldnt want to run much more than 20-30 watts through it...

I think the stock factory speaker wire is pretty beefy compared to some I've seen. I think it is 18 guage. I am running 150w @ 4 ohm w/no problems whatsoever. I guarantee you will not be able to hear any signal differences between 18 and even 14 guage. Ever try hooking up 12 guage to your crossover? I think you are worrying too much over nothing. I have never heard of factory wires melting due to too much power. Maybe it is because I don't get out as much these days? I will continue to use the stock wire and not worry about it. Way too much hassle trying to run new wire through the doors, unless you do it for a living and know the tricks.

Just find some 12-16 ga wire and have fun. You are really nearing the point to go higher than 16 but to each his own. I always go way bigger than i ever need just because i "MIGHT" do it in the future and touch it once...

ALFACK 20 GA IS DUMB!
