I'd look into running a relay for your lights.
Thanks for the pics guys helps me figure out how to run my 4 gauge back to my amp. Now if I can just decide on the sub I'll be ready to go.

So how did you guys get the cable to that point, as in where in the engine bay does the power cable route to in order to go through that grommet? I'd like to run my wire through, which will be a 0awg cable.

Also, is the seat bracket bolt a good place to mount a ground wire?

Stealth, If I were you I would just run it underneath the truck. 0awg is huge, and trying to run it down the door jam and also fit a few runs of speaker wire down there is going to be a huge PITA. Use electrical conduit for protection, run the wire down between the fender behind the passenger front tire well, and run it under the truck and through the grommet in the door jam near the back of the rear door. Then it comes up right under your amplifiers.

When I previously had 4awg run to the battery, it wasn't as hard to run through the firewall. But 0awg is a beast.

And my ground spot is one of the seat bolts, but i scraped it down to clean/bare metal for good contact. My noise floor is non-existent.

All right, man. Thanks for the tip.

I was thinking of that also, running it outside. Been doing a lot of thread searching on this subject, learning.

Look at post #8 in this thread...

I did mine this way, and it worked out great. It seems this is even easier than running through the firewall since you have so much room to work.

So 1/0 cable has a wire diameter of 0.3249 in all the charts I've looked at, so with the sheathing it's more or less 1/2 an inch total diameter or so, correct?
