Amp for a 10W7

I plan on adding a 10W7 as soon as the funds are all put together and am not real sure on what amp i should run. I'm looking to run about 700 watts, i know i can run more but dont want to push the limits at all, to it but im not familar with any quality brands. So can anyone point me in the right direction as to what amp's i should consider.

Thanks

W7's are SVC 3 ohm, correct?

If so you'll be wanting to pick up something that does around 1000wrms at 2 ohm...that would give you ROUGHLY 750 watts at 3 ohm.
How high of quality are you looking to go? Another big factor is your budget.

Why not just go with a 500/1? Plenty of power for a 10W7.

It will also depend on the box. I had a 10W7 powered by a 500/1 in a small sealed box and it sounded good.

Brypink is right. Do not get too caught up in the numbers. You really will not hear much difference from 500-750 watts. 1 maybe 2 decibels tops. Not enough to worry about.

First thing first. You will need more than 2" clearance for that 10W7. I was quoted at least 3" from a JL tech, but I think he was being safe. Probably more like 2 1/4" - 2 1/2".

Second...if you can get the clearance for a 10W7, dump it and get a IDMAX10. Way better SQ.
