Amp Problem

Hey guys, i have a Kenwood kac-8152d amp [1100 watts] I had one 10'' pioneer sub under my back seat in my 2003 f150 Screw. I just recently bought 2 Audiobahn 10'' subs. When i hooked them up, they sound great. But after a while my bass just dropped. I went to my amp and it seems the plastic peice of the fuse had popped out, or slid out. I'm not sure what that means or if it was supposed to do that. I simply pushed the fuse back in and they worked again, but the problem comes that it has done this numerous times. Any suggestions? Am i trying to push to many subs with my amp? If so what harm can that cause? I just cant seem to figure out the problem.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

B

I guess the fuse is falling apart? Because when i take it out only the plastic peice comes out, not the rest of the fuse.

How about just trying a new fuse then?

That's what i was going to do, i just didn't know if it was turning the amp off purposly by kicking the fuse out. If it is doing that, then that should be a sign to me that somethings about to blow up. haha.

Haha, na, it shouldn't be a sign that things are about to blow.

Id say either a defective fuse or the things that you stick the fuse into arent tight and the fuse just falls out.

it would probably be a tad bit better to try and tighten the fuse terminals with a pair of very small pliers or maybe a flathead screwdriver..just try to make each side tighter, the tape will work but its not the best solution since you do have power running thru the fuse, you ideally want the best connection possible. just be sure and pull the power leads from the amp prior to attempting this because it is possible to short out your amps power supply if you arent careful
