[Amp] Preout wiring

I'm going to be wiring my system tommorow and I happened to run into a small wall.

When wiring the amps do you use the pre outs on the sub amp or the component amp?
A) Component pre out <to> Sub input
B) Sub pre out <to> Component input

For those curious its for a US amp MD22 + JL 250/1
Thanks!
-Ben

are you talking about the preamps from the headunit? I have a eclipse and it has seperate outputs for the speakers to the component amp and then a set for the sub amp.

oh never mind I figured I see what ya saying, but dont know the answer. I cant really see it mattering unless the preouts are filtered.

Well the sub amp is a mono woofer, so I believeit will send out a mono signal to the component amp, which is a reduction in sq.

Not entirely sure though, thats why I'm asking

If your amps send are full pass on the preouts it doesnt matter.

Your sub amp should still have a Right and Left input and output, so even if the comp amp is hooked up to the sub amp, you should get stereo sound...

just to be safe, if you dont know for sure that you have full range sends coming off of the sub amp, then i would go from headunit to component amp, and then from component amp to sub amp...but the most ideal setup would be if your headunit has seperate outputs for front, rear, and sub then use those....dont jump from one amp to another..this gives you better control over your amps from the comfort of the drivers seat.
