Line Converter Q.
Line Converter Q.
I accidently posted this in the head unit section.. SOrry. This is where it belongs.
Dont hate.. But I got a Kenwood KCS-SW1 powered sub for my truck. My friend has one, and it suites my needs, so there....
Now, since I have the stock single CD headunit in my 04 SCAB, what would be the best way to install it. The unit has RCA preamp and speaker-level inputs.
Would it be be better to tap right off the rear speakers and go into the speaker level inputs or get a line converter and run RCA's to it. Or would it make no difference.
Here is the specs on the unit http://www.crutchfield.com/S-e5Ot6tg...sp?i=113KSCSW1

Most manufacture's say if you have the option of both Line & RCA, go Line. I don't know why other than the Line is at a higher voltage so the amp won't have to work that hard - just my take, nothing official.
Also, with some powered subs, if you use the Line level inputs, you don't have to run a seperate remote-on lead. Many have an "auto-sensing" option to turn on when a signal is present on the Line inputs (some do the same w/ RCA) ie. Bazooka's BTA10200.
