I'm popping 60 amp fuses on my 4 gauge power wire it's a brand new kit and made sure it is not grounding anywhere, it only does it when i'm jammin out loud. should I try like a 90 amp fuse or is there another issue? amp is 1300x1@2ohms.

any answers are helpful thanks

I agree.

I would try the bigger fuse. As for the dimming, you might think about running bigger power and ground wire and maybe doing the big 3 upgrade. I am running the amps in my sig with only a 60 amp fuse at the battery and have never blown a one. I have run in from over 2k watts to where it is now at around 1600. And I run only 4awg from the battery and 8 awg to each amp.

Whats wierd is when i had this amp in my f150 I had anonther 1200 watt for mids, pushing 2500 watts all together running the 4 awg and then the 2 8's like you are, and never blew one, The only difference I made is the amp is not bridged each sub is wired to a 2ohm load on seprate channels, I dont think that should be an issue should it?

I would not think so. I have my subs wired to my 1500XXK running one sub per channel at 2 ohm with 450 watts. My Germs are running off the 2500XXK with 270 each @ 4 ohm so 1440 at full power. My other power is only rear and center, which is 50 to each but, only on movies.

I have was running 525 watts to my Chameleons and 900 to the subs for around 2k at full tilt and still no problems.

You are blowing fuses at the battery, correct?

yes blowing at the battery, asked a local shop hear and they said when it goes to seprate channels like i have it now it is dropping the load to 1 ohm I dont see how that possible but I just may wire them in series again if that is gonna fix it then I guess i'll do it.

Hold the phone. What type of subs do you have and what are the voice coils? The shop is either smokin something or might be correct. If you have dual 4 ohm voice coil subs, then they need an ohms lesson. However, if they are dual 2 ohm and wired in parallel, then this could be a problem.

LOL they must be smokin crack then, they are dual 4ohm L7 12's, I think I just may wire them in series anyhow. I figured they were prolly smokin somthin.

Wait a minute. That is a mono amp. I was thinking 2 channel. I think the shop is correct. You had each sub wired in parallel and then each sub hooked up to one of the speaker terminals, (which there are two sets of speaker terminals). I think you were still presenting your amp with a 1 ohm load. There are 2 sets of terminals but, that is just for convience. If you have the manual double check me but, I think that is correct. You would need to wire the subs in a series/parallel scheme to achieve a final load to the amp of 4 ohm. Wire each sub in series (8ohm) and then each sub to one of the set of speaker terminals. This would then drop the load to 4 ohm. You were putting two 2 ohm loads on the amp for a 1 ohm final.

Works great thanks for the help again, now the only issue is I lost quite a bit of power goin to a 4 ohm load, it puts me @ 761watts instead of 1300 oh well i'll get a 1 ohm amp soon
