Contemplating on amp??

Anyone have experience with PRD1000.1(Memphis), MCD1000(Memphis), MM1000.1(Autotek), BXi1606D(Hifonics)?? Execpt for MCD1000($370) I can get the rest for around $200. Yes they are new an sold by authorized dealer. Are these amps over/underrated, accurate? I will be running them @ 1.3ohm but which will give most power???

If I were looking at them I would be looking at Memphis first, then Autotek, and Hifonics last.

The Memphis and Autotek are most likely a little underrated, and the Hifonics overrated.

How much is Memphis underrated? Which one, PRD1000.1, MCD1000 or both??

I would not worry too much about being overrated or underrated. Even if they are underrated by say 20%, you are only talking about maybe 1 db in volume at most. A 100 watt rated amp that actually does say 120, you would never eve notice.

I have run Memphis before and they are great little amps. Built rock solid. I have had the MC2004, MC500.1 and the big Memphis Belle. The Belle is one of my favorite all time amps. 1,100 watts @ 1ohm.

So what watts will I be able to notice a difference? Is MCD1000 that much different from PRD1000.1????

Double the wattage is only a 3db increase in volume. That is really where you would be able to tell much difference and even that is not much.

So if comparing BXi1606D which puts out around 1400RMS @ 1ohm, would it be more powerful than these amps(MM1000.1, MCD1000, PRD1000.1)??

Well, considering thats a Hifonics, it probably does more like 1100-1200 watts really, which I would guess thsoe Memphis's probably do.

Your not going to tell a difference between them at all really.
If you want something that is cheap that that will work, then get the Hifonics, if you want some nicer overall quality, get the Memphis...

Bartak is right. You are not going to notice a difference in power output on all 3 amps. My opinion would be to get the Memphis. If not, get the one that fits your budget best. Anyone of them should do the job for you. Minor power differences should not be worried about.

The only one that cost more is the MCD1000 which is around $150 more, I just wasnt sure if it was seriously underrated. Since according to both of you I wont notice a power difference which has the best overall quality??

I still would say Memphis is the best amp. $150 better? That will be up to you. I would probably go with one of the others if they are that much cheaper. Especially for a bass amp which will be somewhat more forgiving. The Hifonics and Autotek are not bad amps at all. Just middle of the pack. Memphis just ahead of the middle of the pack.
