Amp Location Help

I have a 2004 F-150 Regular Cab. I plan on installing a JL 300/4 amp to power JL 6.5 Components In the front only for now. A sub behind the seats will come within the next six months to make use of the other 150 watts that amp puts out. But my real question is can i put my amp under the seat without worrying about overheating. I know i could relocate it if need be but i was wondering if anyone knows anymore than i do. Also by running this amp will it put lots of extra strain on my battery to the point the battery life is serverly lessened?

You should not have any problems with over-heating if you put it under your seat. Just about everyone puts them either under the seats, or on the back wall of the cab, and I have yet to hear of anyone having an issue with overheating.

Your electrical system should be fine with that amp. About the only way your battery life would be shortened is if you listen to the radio with the pickup turned off, and run down the battery numerous times. But I have a 99 with the stock battery, that I have ran down quite a few times, and still have no problem.
