Funny, $400 to BUY a (HO) High Output alternator!

I'll charge your alternator for a beer! -not the $400. It's a good deal -really

As for a bigger alt. I worked with a rep for World Wide Automotive last Wed., they have an alt for police applications. A 200 amper that will do 125 amps at idle.

They have been out now for about 1.5 years, they are made for the 4.6 crown vics, but will fit some other applications. They go back as far as 92 and in 05 Ford went to Mitsubishi to solve the problem at the factory. So picking up an alt for an 05 crown vic police car may be the ticket.

Guess you could alway go talk to the Powermaster people.

There are also 200 amp (or maybe they are 220 amp) alternators off the older style F150's and Expedition's with the police package. You can sometimes find them in a junk-yard, or on ebay pretty cheap.

A 100A fuse on your amp's power wire you mean?

It really depends on your amp, not your truck. I usually just add up the fuse rating on the amp and use that size, or a little bigger. Like if there are three 30 amp fuses on the amp, that is 90 total, so Id stick a fuse that size or a little bigger on the power wire.

I've got a 200amp fuse for my inline by the battery. I think my Punch 150 has three 40amp fuses & the Punch 75 has three 30 amp fuses.

The problem with using way to much fuse is that it won't blow in time to protect your equipment.

If your amp aonly has 40 amps of fuse i would drop back to a 50 amp in my inline.

Would I have to change the wire to because fuse came with it? Could 100A drain more power than 50?
