Dont waste money on a cap. First, get everything installed and determine if you ARE having a voltage drop of any kind, and if so, take the money you were going to spend on the cap, and do the Big 3 upgrade.

After about 10 seconds a cap is just another strain on the electrical system that you were trying to solve in the first place.

I have got two 10's and two amps. I have been told by many people that i need to get a power cap or a new battery. From reading what you guys said i guess i won't get the power cap. So a new battery is what i need right?

i got a friend with a similar set up as me(new subs, speakers, and amps) and he has got a power cap. He really dosnt think it does anything useful and he wants a new battery. he dosn't know which battery would be best. I also dont know. So any advice??

add up the fuse ratings on the two amps if they are less than what your alt is rated at don't even worry bout it, maybe replace the stocker for a kinetic or optima and do the big three If your pulling more amps than the alt can provide its time for a HO alt

you guys are all wrong.

dead wrong.

the higher farad rating means a higher exponential value of your money will be wasted

In this order...
1. Big 3 upgrade
2. And/or upgrade your battery
3. HO alternator

I'm gonna start with the big 3 first. I've got some dimming problems of my own. Seems like those new Punch amps love some juice if you've got it turned up pretty good.

they are easy to find...just spending $400 plus for one is keeping me from doing it.

I'm thinking about using a Batcap...I know a few people that have had good results with them.

400 just to be charged and whats a HO? It would be cheaper to buy a new one.
