Power Source for Amp

I have a 04 Screw and looking to add an amp and sub. The old days, you ran the power wire from the battery to the amp.
Since the the truck is a "drive by wire"; I was wondering where the best power source (directly to the battery?) and if it's the battery, where is the best place to run the wire from the under the hood to the back seat?

Thanks,
ConnRadd

It's still the way...battery to amp. The place to run your cable...if you open your hood, look on your firewall kinda behind the battery, you will see a couple of grommets. I think there might be a pic in my gallery...not sure if it's still there. One of them will fit up to a 1/0 cable and comes out from behind the dash (right behind the heater blower, IIRC). Run it along the passenger side under the door sills to the back.

Hope this helps!
